Catopia

Social Media Foundation & Launch Strategy

The challenge
A hospitality revolution. A market opportunity invisible to the market itself.

Catopia had positioned itself as a luxury boarding hotel for cats—a 4,400 sq ft, independently curated sanctuary in Wilton, Connecticut, with individually designed suites and a reputation for meticulous care. Yet its digital presence reflected none of that. The website was functional but generic. The social channels were dormant. Their brand voice—when present at all—sounded like every other pet boarding facility. Founders and pet owners searching for a premium experience found no reason to believe this was premium. The difference between Catopia and commodity boarding was invisible to the very market they were trying to reach.

The business impact was tangible: qualified prospects couldn't find them. Those who did weren't convinced. And the luxury positioning that justified premium pricing was nowhere to be seen.

The Positioning Problem

From: "A pet boarding hotel. Safe, clean, reliable."

To: "A distinguished feline paradise. Grandiose hospitality. Your cat's residency, not your cat's hotel room."

Our Approach
Strategy before channels. Consistency across every touchpoint. Nothing left to chance.

We understood that repositioning a luxury service requires both strategic clarity and relentless execution. We didn't build a website, launch Instagram, and hope. We began by defining exactly who Catopia's ideal guests were—wealthy, fastidious pet owners who understand that their cat's wellbeing is non-negotiable and are willing to pay premium rates for that certainty. We clarified the single, differentiating idea: Catopia as a grandiose, distinguished sanctuary where feline guests are treated with the care and formality of a luxury hotel concierge.

Then every asset—copy, visuals, booking experience, social voice—was built to communicate that single idea, consistently, across every platform.

Key focus areas included

  • Brand Positioning & Voice Refinement — Defined a clear market position with a grandiose, hospitality-forward tone. Established the brand voice as 'Playful Formality'—a seasoned hotel concierge who takes feline hospitality with complete seriousness. Clarified messaging pillars, differentiation from commodity boarding, and refined authority narrative.

  • Compliance-Conscious Positioning — Ensured all positioning, copy, and website content aligned with Catopia's boarding-only license, eliminating language or feature promises around grooming, medical, or wellness services.

  • Website Redesign & Booking Integration — Rebuilt the site on Wix with Gingrapp booking platform integration. Designed 5-7 pages of copy focused on hospitality language, practical booking details (vaccination, check-in/out, multi-cat pricing), and conversion funnel optimization. Mobile-responsive, SEO-structured, and positioned around the guest experience, not just the service feature list.

  • Multi-Channel Social Media Launch — Built and launched across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn with distinct voice per channel. Instagram and Facebook: playful, visually rich, lifestyle-forward. TikTok: contemporary and engaging. LinkedIn: practical, business-focused. Developed four-phase launch strategy with phased content calendar running July through August.

  • Branded Content Production — Developed 'The Real Housecats of Wilton,' a multi-act campaign positioning Catopia as a lifestyle destination. Included casting call, batched production trips, and a public voting finale with prize incentives. Planned as a sustained content series (August–November) and future viral moment for the brand.

  • Vendor & Vendor-Adjacent Positioning — Sourced and managed a Connecticut-based photographer for brand and social content production. Managed relationship and pricing under the Vas Digital brand to preserve agency control over quality, margins, and creative continuity.

The Result
From invisible to unmistakable. From commodity to grandiose.

Catopia's rebrand project delivered a cohesive brand identity, website, and social infrastructure that finally communicate the caliber of the business. Every touchpoint—from the booking experience to Instagram captions to the TikTok strategy—now speaks with authority and grandiose formality. The positioning shift from generic pet boarding to distinguished feline sanctuary is unmistakable.

A luxury service that was previously invisible to its ideal market is now positioned to attract, convert, and retain the guests who understand exactly what they're paying for.
